The XP-Pen Artist 13 Pen Display (2nd Gen) tablet is a graphics tablet that enables users to directly draw on it, using a specialized pen instead of a mouse. It’s designed as a separate monitor that functions like one. The tablet connects to any laptop or desktop computer just like a monitor would.
This 2nd generation model provides more enhancements compared to the original Artist 13, which makes it a small tablet with a screen size similar to a 13-inch laptop. It’s noteworthy that while you can draw on the Artist 13, it’s not like an iPad-type tablet. Instead, it needs to be plugged into a host computer via a single USB-C cord or a more complex 3-cord-in-one setup.
The XP-Pen Artist 13 Pen Display offers a wireless pen that doesn’t require any charging, and it can be used right away. Similar to other tablets, you need to install driver software (Mac or Windows) to run the XP-Pen tablet, and once it’s set up and configured, your computer will perceive the tablet as a monitor.
When using the Artist 13, the pen functions like a mouse, allowing you to select, open, and close windows, and drag objects. The pen is held like a pen, which provides a more natural drawing experience.
